The “Record Hop” happens every Wednesday. It’s FREE, and the music is DJ'd for swing dances of all types - east coast, west coast, lindy, and more. There's free parking in the Green Street parking garage.

FAQ
WHO: Dancers of all ages and abilities. It helps to have some background in East Coast, West Coast or Lindy Hop, but if you don't, come anyway and we'll help you out. Even though it's at a bar, people of all ages are welcome. If you're under 21 we'd love to have you -- there are people under 21 who regularly show up -- but please respect the law and only purchase non-alcoholic beverages. The bar can get in a tremendous amount of trouble if they sell liquor to someone under age, even inadvertently, and we’d be banished in short order.
WHAT: A DJ'd dance to a mix of swing music. The normal mix includes music of various tempos and eras: classic swing tunes, blues and contemporary, and some good old fifties rock n' roll. Dancers of all abilities and a range of ages show up and we all dance with one another. Feel free to ask a stranger to dance - that's how you get to know folks.
WHEN: Wednesdays from 9-11 or so PM. There's no cover charge, but we encourage people to buy at least one drink (non-alcoholic is fine) in order to maintain the good relationship we have with the bar. Don’t forget to tip the bartender!

Shoes are your choice, but not all shoes work well for dancing on the wood floor. Street shoes can bring in gravel and dirt, so it's best to have a dedicated pair of dance shoes that you carry with you. If you have questions feel free to ask us.
